Parading at the Home of Passionate Minds

June 29, 2011

Not even bad weather could stop the blazing exchange of passions at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) - the 'home of passionate minds.'

The first ever BGC Passion Parade held last May 28 along the main thoroughfares of Bonifacio High Street, served as a huge vibrant rainbow that brightened up everyone's mood after a gloomy spell of rain.

A lighter version of Reginald Yuson's 'Specific Gravity' towered in the parade.

The gigantic balloons ranging from 7 - 12 feet high wowed everyone. Vivid colors from balloon sculptures like an oversized dog, camera, ice cream, and some of the district's art installations like 'Specific Gravity' and 'Hearsay' cleared the sky and drove the drizzly clouds away. The marching line was also joined by some of BGC's passion communities composed of runners, cyclists, skateboarders, Mini Cooper and Miata cars aficionados who all marched in with their individual gimmicks and stunts, but moved amazingly in harmony.

Ice cream, anyone?

An oversized lomo camera captured everyone's attention with their vivid colors and unique structure.

Be in whatever form it is -- a parade, a fair, or series of shows, we are committed to supporting and celebrating the different passions of the communities in BGC through unique and innovative ways," Manny Blas, BGC's Head for Commercial Operations, said.

Runners led by 'Barely Legal' grooved to the beat amidst loud cheers from the watchers at the sideline.

Small but incredibly adorable Mini Coopers adorned the streets of BGC during the parade.

The BGC Passion Parade was made possible in part by One Serendra and Two Serendra.
